What is Personal Finance: I’m in Charge® ?
Personal Finance: I’m in Charge® is a Canadian financial literacy program that aims to help young adults develop a sense of financial empowerment and give them the tools they need to spend their money wisely, in a responsible way that reflects their values.
Who is Personal Finance: I’m in Charge for?
Personal Finance: I’m in Charge is primarily aimed at people ages 15 to 30 and newcomers to Canada. Users must be at least 14 years old to create an account. The training courses are available in English and French and can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
Is the program free?
Yes, the program is available for free online and doesn’t include any advertising.
What type of device do I need to do the program?
You can use a smartphone, a tablet or a computer.
How long does the program take?
It has 15 modules that take about 20 minutes each, so in total it’s about 5 hours of training. Each module is on a specific topic. You can take the modules that interest you in any order you want.

How do I take the program with a trainer?
The Personal Finance: I’m in Charge program is offered by accredited trainers in Quebec and Ontario. The workshops are configured for groups and feature interactive reflection exercises, lively discussions and fun hands-on learning games. They’re available both in person and online. Can I organize a Personal Finance: I’m in Charge workshop at my school/business/organization?
Yes, you can. One of our trainers can come to your location and host a free group workshop. To find an organization in your area that offers the program, visit the Find a partner organization page.
